Our latest group project is one I picked. It's called Scrap Jar
and as you can probably tell by the title, it's a beautiful scrap quilt.
Each block is made up of a star using whatever scraps you have
in your stash. I chose to do mine in brights. And the star is made up of several components.
We've been working on our quilts for about two months and here's how mine is going together...
Step one of course was choosing the fabric and scraps to use in the quilt. As I mentioned I chose to use brights with contrasting white fabric for my background.
Here's a photo of a few of my four-patches. No photos of the sixteen-patches yet. They are part of next month's work.
And did I mention the flying geese? Yes, there are tons of geese
flying around throughout this project. I have a photo of some of my finished flying geese. They are so much fun to make for a scrappy block. I started with 51/2" squares of the bright fabric and combined them with the same size squares of white and light-colored fabric. This is how they turned out.
That's as far as I've gotten on the Quilt so far. I'll keep you posted on further progress as it happens. In the end, there will be twenty star blocks. I think it's going to be very beautiful and I'm so excited to finish it and share it with you!
I hope you are having a great week and are enjoying some quilting or crafting of your own.
