The Holidays Are Almost Upon US ~~~ It's So Good To Be Back!

I know, I know, it's been a very VERY long time since I've posted.  Sometimes life just seems to overtake us and that's exactly what has happened these past few months.  Things last summer were going merrily along and life was hitting it's normal rhythm when suddenly my husband became seriously ill (I'm talking a near death experience!) after taking a fall off a ladder onto a concrete floor. He underwent emergency surgery for an extremely infected lung cavity because the infection had grown so bad that his poor little lung was only functioning at a tenth of its capacity.  VERY Scary!!!

Altogether he was in hospital and then in rehab for about 6 weeks and then there was another few weeks of recovery at home with me assuming nursing duties as well as taking care of the chores he usually does and my own chores.  I'm so grateful for all the help we received from friends and from our dear son & his wife who pitched right in and made things a whole lot easier for us.

Well, all of that along with the usual distractions has kept me away long enough. It's time I blogged out another missive.  As you can imagine, I haven't really had very much time for quilting or other needlework but I have managed to get a few things ready for the upcoming holiday time.  I've added a few items to the inventory in my Etsy shop and am hoping to get a few more things ready in the next few days.  Here's a little preview of some of them...

I was thinking how much I enjoy the Autumn season and Thanksgiving so with that in mind I got busy and created a lovely table runner and a beautiful mini quilt that can also be used as a table topper or candle mat.  They are done in Autumn colors and showcase the usual things you think of when you think of Fall.

You can see close-ups and more photos at my Etsy shop.

I also whipped up this sweet little tea towel and embroidered it with a whole band of strawberries.  I just love strawberries and I love the way this towel turned out.  It'll make a great gift for a secret pal or special friend.

And I've also made a few items for the Christmas and Winter holidays that will be upon us in no time. They can be found in my Etsy shop as well.

I hope you will all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We each of us have so many things to be thankful for.
