Lots of Work in Progress in This New Year

January and February have been lazy months for me.  Still recovering from all the holiday rush and excitement I guess.  I have been thinking that I would love to do a few things for Valentine's Day which much to my surprise, I've noticed is just a short time away.  I want to do a table runner with a heart or red or valentine theme but can't to seem to find just the right pattern for it and I'm becoming a little discouraged.


I did find a pattern for these really cute valentine mug rugs.
If you enjoy doing applique  then these are perfect for you.  I really love how there's just enough red in the fabric to make you think Valentine but lots of other colors to that make it very bright and happy.  You can find directions for making these at Scissortail Studio.

I've been working on a set of beautiful embroidered pillowcases.  The cases were a gift from a friend and I can't wait to get them finished!  I have almost completed one.  I did complete work on another set that I think are really quite nice.  I love how they are clean, bright and colorful...reminds me of Springtime.

 And I finished working on this little jewel of a tea towel.  These little pears are just so happy and colorful.  You can't help but smile when you see them.  It's for sale in my Etsy shop but I'm not in any big rush to sell it.  Sometimes I have a real hard time letting go.

I pulled out from the stack of UFO's that mystery quilt I worked on as my Thursday quilting class project last year.  It was all sandwiched and pinned and ready to be quilted so I started working on it this week.  I decided to work at the kitchen table because it's such a big quilt and I need the room to sprawl the whole thing out.  My husband is being very patient but keeps asking me if I'm almost finished with it so I guess I had better "git 'er done" as quickly as I can.
